Description: Hello Folks! Do you have a DeWalt 20V DCV517 cordless wet/dry vacuum ? (vacuum not included) If you do then you know it's a great vacuum with the exception of one thing, the exhaust side vents. These side vents blow dirt everywhere before you can even vacuum anything up :oP This can be extremely frustrating especially when you are trying to clean up sawdust or light material (see pictures). To solve this problem I developed the RCDM ORIGINAL "Exhaust Vent Diverter" that bolts right up to the sides of the vacuum (without modification). This diverter system directs the exhaust air from your vacuum upward which greatly reduces the disturbance of dirt and dust around the vacuum (see pictures). Some sellers have copied my idea and that is because its's a good one!Don't be fooled by cheap imitations that break off the first time they are used.Get the ORIGINAL Exhaust Vent Diverter that is held on with STAINLESS STEEL hardware! Note: Newer versions of the DC517 vacuum have been shipped with T10 Torx screws in lieu of the Phillips head screws shown in this listing. This kit now includes a T10 Torx driver tip but will need a 1/4" hex head nut driver or drill driver tip holder (not included) to use this Torx tip correctly.Combined shipping available when you use the cart before checkout !!! There is no appreciable reduction in suction with these vents installed just overall improved performance of an already awesome machine! To install the vent diverters you must first remove the battery and hose from the base of the unit (refer to user's manual for removing hose from vacuum). Then you must remove eight Phillips head screws (or T10 Torx head screws) from the bottom of the vacuum as seen in the photos. The motor assembly will now drop out and you can install the vent diverters, one on each side with the included hardware. Reassemble the vacuum and you are ready to go! Be sure to install the diverters with the vent pointed upward as in the photos. Note: You will need a Phillips screwdriver OR a 1/4" nut driver and a pair of of pliers (needle-nose OK) to install the vents (these tools not included). This product does NOT work with the DeWalt 18V vacuum (DC515) and is only guaranteed to work with the 20V model.
