A manuscript letter to McGraw from Dixon describing his strong dissatisfaction with the reproduction quality of his illustrations. Richrad McGraw owned the McGraw Colorgraphy Company which produced high-quality carbro prints of photographs. He was himself an amateur photographer and a friend and patron of photographers and artists such as Ansel Adams, Edward Weston and Maynard Dixon. This book is from the collection of Maynard Dixon by descent to Edith Hamlin (wife), gifted by Hamlin to John Dixon (son of Maynard) to a private collectory.
