Description: An antique, circa 1900, HAC (Hamburg American Clock Company) 30-hour mantel clock in a good quality and undamaged oak case with its original shellac lacquer finish and a great shine. Standing on four small bun feet the dimensions are 7.25" wide, 7.5" high and 3.25" deep. Its made from solid oak throughout save for the pine rear door and there's no plywood anywhere. As you can see from the pics, the dial has Roman numerals, is brass-faced, the glass is bevelled and the balance wheel movement is stamped with the usual crossed arrows motif used by the company. It comes with a brass key which is likely not the original but does the job and the spring is good although the movement would benefit from a clean and service as it will only tick for a few seconds although it did run for over 3 hours during the time I spent photographing it when lying flat on its face. Its come to us through the family and has been stored for several years.
