Description: I went to research this lamp, and even though it is not powered by oil, it is still considered a hurricane lamp. A lot of references to Gone With the Wind came up in a search as well. I'm guessing the movie featured a very similar-styled lamp and the name caught on. I tried to read the book once, I even still have a first-edition copy of it, but I couldn't get through it. I was doing real good just to get all the way through the movie. I have a photo of the lamp in a very undignified position to illustrate that the bottom globe still has a functioning lamp. I unfortunately could not find a bulb small enough to fit through the bottom port. Also, I'll take this moment to warn you that because of the changes in electrical residential wattage inputs, a standard bulb will get very hot inside this lamp. I would take precautions before lighting this up with a traditional incandescent bulb. The item itself is 13 in. tall, 6 in. wide and 6 in. deep.
