Description: Vintage Shakespeare Wonderod Fly Fishing Rod FY-930-EFA 9’0” This is a vintage two piece Shakespeare Wonderod fly fishing rod. Model # FY-930-EFA. The rod is 9’0” in length and weighs 6.4 oz. Fast Taper/Power Action design for large fish in either fresh or salt water. Rod will handle a 9-10 weight fly line. From Shakespeare’s Professional Series. Rod dates to October 1965. The rod has a 3” detachable specie cork fighting grip with a maroon aluminum butt cap. 4” black and maroon anodized aluminum sliding hood ring locking fly reel seat. 7” half wells specie cork foregrip with a maroon winding check. New stainless steel hookeeper. Reinforced stainless steel stripper guide, seven (7) new PAC BAY oversized stainless steel snake guides and oversized stainless steel tip top. Maroon anodized aluminum Swiss style ferrules. Blade is Wonderod white with merlot nylon guide winds and black nylon extensions. Specie cork has been cleaned, sealed, and reconditioned. A 2” section of the blade on the butt section just below the stripper guide has been sealed and over-wrapped with white nylon to protect a small surface scratch on the blade. Rod is finished with a premium grade of glass rod varnish. Rod packs in a blue cloth Shakespeare rod bag enclosed in a blue ribbed plastic Shakespeare rod tube with rubber end caps.
