Description: Vintage, Unique Mid-Century Modern WOODEN SHOE SHINE BOX w/ Accessories This old Shoe Shine Box is unique in that the foot stand is inside the box. When the box is closed, the hinged top is flat. Opening the box puts the foot stand on top. I've looked in active and sold listings, and can't find another one like this. The top (closed) measures 11½" x 7¾", and it's 7¾" high. Lift the hinged top and hinged front lowers to give access to everything in the box. The first picture shows the box (open), the next six show the accessories, and the rest show the various sides of the box. Accessories include a 7¼" long flexible leather brush (real bristle). It's in remarkably good shape except that the leather is separating on the ends, but a little glue will put it back and no one will ever know. By itself, this leather handled brush might be worth what I'm asking for the whole kit. Collectors: You rarely see one of these. A Cavalier 400 Shoe Shine Compact is also in the box. In the compact are four more brushes (black and brown)--two for applying polish, and two for whisking the polish to a nice shine. These Cavalier brushes all have wooden handles and have bristles of a horsehair mixture. Also in the kit is a barely used flannel strop and two metal tins of "Squire" polish (black and brown). There is no polish inside, but they still smell great! Also included are a couple of sets of shoestrings for good measure. The Box itself shows signs of use, and was probably repaired on one end at some point (visible in a photo). The box is solid. Round ornamentations are fastened to the end sides. Stamped on the bottom, "Arrow Products Lake Geneva Wis." Here's where the real value is: This a unique box, but that's not all. In viewing other completed auctions it's clear that the contents of this set, if sold separately, would bring more than the price I'm asking for this entire set. So the value is definitely here even apart from the vintage wooden box itself. So grab this unique box and all it's contents before someone beats you to it.
