Up for sale is an Original WWI Era US Army AEF M1917 Helmet Shell. Shell ONLY, no liner or chin strap. This helmet shell has the original paint with the original textured finish. It has a hand painted 35th Infantry Division Emblem. The emblem is a Disc with a Santa Fee Star. The rim is fully intact, not rusting and separating. The helmet has the original paint, no major dings or dents in the helmet. It has a ZF44 stamped on the underside of the rim. The 35th Division was organized 25 August 1917, at Camp Doniphan, Oklahoma, as a unit of the National Guard, with troops from Missouri and Kansas. It was inactivated in 1919, but the division headquarters was reconstituted in 1935 and it served with a brief interruption until it was inactivated again in 1963.
